It was a record-breaking year for transplants in the UK last year and in Essex the figure rose to 108 its highest for more than five years.

Essex Police have spent nearly £7 million on redundancy deals over the past two years.

As the medal tally at the Paralympic Games grows, there are some non-disabled athletes also picking up prizes.
