Danced Like on the Grass
Danced Like on the Grass, written and performed by Chris Wood, was inspired by the gold winning gymnast Olga Korbut. In the 1972 Munich Olympics the seventeen year old Olga, who was also affectionately nicknamed the ‘Sparrow from Minsk’, transformed the face of gymnastics forever. She won over the audiences and judges alike with her bright smile and innovative routines.
Mixed with an interview from Olga herself, hear how being treasured by the public was more important than the medals she won.
