Loosely based on a series of mystery novels by M. C. Beaton the series concerns a local police officer, played by Robert Carlyle, in the fictitious town of Lochdubh on the north coast of Scotland.

From Danny McGlone in Tutti Frutti to Chris Guthrie in Sunset Song, from Dr Finlay to Hamish Macbeth, we see how Scottish drama has provided us with cult characters who we'll never forget.
