Bob Harris previews The Americana Music Awards in Nashville

Tonight's programme comes from Music Row in Nashville on the day of the 10th Americana Music Association Awards. The ceremony, which includes awards for artist, album and song of the year, takes place later tonight at the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. Nominees this year include rock legend turned roots artist Robert Plant and his Band of Joy, multi-award winning songwriter Lucinda Williams, and the UK's own nu-folk sensations Mumford and Sons. Lifetime achievement recipients this year include Southern rocker Greg Allman, dobro master Jerry Douglas and, awarded this year's Americana Music Trailblazer award, Bob Harris himself !
In this preview of the awards Bob reflects on the current Americana music scene with writer, journalist and recording artist Peter Cooper, and his special studio guest is queen of folkabilly and and past recipient of the Americana Trailblazer award Nanci Griffith.
