Surprising visit to an Iraqi artist chosen for the Venice Biennale
Six Iraqi artists have been chosen to show at the glitzy Venice Biennale art show. Alan Yentob visits one in his studio in Helsinki, Finland and sees his witty, absurdist video pieces - 'Cold Interrogation', inspired by his exile to the frozen north, where a man in a fridge fires questions at the viewer peeping through an eyehole - What do you think of suicide bombers? where is Osama Bin Laden? how does it feel to ride a camel? - all real questions that the artist, Adel Abidin, has collected. He makes sexy nightclub numbers of the Saddam Hussein propaganda songs of his youth, and sets a Jihadist kidnapper to an American folk anthem.
