Extraordinary personal stories from around the world.

Today, Joao Silva, the wartime photographer who spent years covering dangerous situations, describes the moment he lost his legs to a landmine whilst following an American patrol in Afghanistan last year.

Despite suffering major internal injuries, he was still taking pictures as he was dragged away.

He talks to Matthew about his life on the front line - and his desire to return there.

Also, the Kenyan post-election-violence victim who was able to take a dollar and turn it into a successful business, and the Indian astronomer whose job it is to make star-gazing popular.
