Every Friday night from 7, Andrew Marston brings you an exclusive live session here on BBC Hereford & Worcester.

This month there's performances from Tripbuk, Natalie PYT, Pablo Alto and Tropicaux as recorded at the Royal Oak in Leominster.

Our next recording session takes place on Sunday 29 May at The Hatch near Tenbury Wells from 2.30pm and admission is free.

This week, we hear from Tripbuk who's been writing music for nearly a decade.

This was 24-year-old Matt Freeman's first live performance in two years, although he's only been taking music seriously for the last 12 months.

Whether you're a singer or an MC, a band, a solo-artist or a DJ, there are loads of things to consider when you're starting to make music.

This month, we're offering advice from Marina and The Diamonds and Chipmunk on writing your first songs, Toddla T and Pulled Apart By Horses on buying the kit you need and rehearsing, and Tim Westwood on starting out as a DJ.

This week we hear about the importance of buying the right gear, aiming for quality not quantity.

We hear from Zophia Amey, who caught up with BBC Hereford & Worcester's Elliott Webb, ahead of her big performance at Sixways on Sunday.

The 21-year-old local musician sang as the players took to the field in a gripping game that saw Worcester beat Bedford to a place in the finals of the Championship play-offs.

She's only been writing music for two years and has just come back from a tour of Nashville, Tennessee.

This week, we're sending out our resident reviewer Andy O'Hare to the Redditch Battle of the Bands 2011. This event has been taking place for the last few years and has produced acts of quality such as The Lies In Me, The Cosmics and last year's winners Stakeout

Bands must have at least one member living in the Redditch area and have to be 25 or under on the day of the final - held at the Big K Theatre on 14 May

Although there's a prize of studio time on offer - the Redditch BoB is more of a showcase of the best of up-and-coming North Worcestershire talent - and many acts have taken up the opportunity to link up with MAS Records of Kidderminster and BBC Hereford & Worcester's Introducing show.
