Creating words with 'magic thumbs'

Rodd use his ‘magic thumbs’ to create words with a different middle sound. During the pause discuss with the children what other sounds can go in the middle of b and d to make new words. There are opportunities for the children to practise saying the sounds and blending sounds together to make words.
