US TV Host Oprah Winfrey has been ranked by Forbes magazine as the richest African American of the 20th century, and for a while was the world's only black billionaire. Through her vast fame and fortune she has become one of the most influential women in the world. Known for her top-rated TV shows, a film acting career, syndicated radio shows, a wildly successful book club, her own magazine and prominent philanthropic/charity work, she's just launched OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) her own TV channel. We ask Professor Diane Roberts in the US for her assessment of whether this might be a step too far.
