In an al fresco laboratory in her garden, Carol Klein discovers exactly where and how the complex process of photosynthesis occurs inside the leaves of plants by observing leaves and slides with a light microscope and prepared images using an electron microscope. The complex structure of chloroplasts and the internal and external structures of leaves are also explored with explanations from gardener and bio-imaging expert, Kim Findlay.
