Dolphin dissection reveals the effects of ocean noise

Dr Darlene Ketter, a world expert in hearing, examines the complex hearing mechanism of marine mammals.

A CT scan and dissection of a dolphin provide her with evidence of the distressing effects of ocean noise on marine mammals’ hearing.

Dr Ketter believes that the combination of ocean noise, hearing loss and stress is impacting on marine mammals’ ability to survive.
