Synopsis

Johnny Ryan discusses his new book - The History of the Internet and the Digital Future - on the extraordinary evolution of internet.

Researchers in the US have developed a robotic snake that helps in the surveillance of difficult terrains, uninviting to man and other machines. The robotic snakes are also helping out in the operating theatre. Howie Choset describes how the snakes might be used cardiac surgery.

And Digital Planet investigates the bizarre episodes of exploding mobile phones in India – urban myth or actually something to worry about?
