Israel Orchestra to play Wagner in Germany
Next summer in Bayreuth the Israel Chamber Orchestra will play Wagner for the first time in Germany - a decision which has evoked hostile reaction in the Israeli press. The composer remains largely taboo in Israel since anti-semitic in life, he later became a nazi totem and Hitler favourite. Mat Heywood talks to the orchestra about their ground-breaking decision.
