Former newspaper editor Aaron Berhane stood up for press freedom in Eritrea during a brutal clamp down on journalists in the country. As a result he was forced to flee his homeland to save his life. Aaron describes the pain he felt leaving his family behind eight years ago, and his joy at being reunited with them recently in Canada.

Former beach cleaner Yandiswa Mazwane shows our reporter Eva Dadrian how she creates beautiful wall-hangings and artwork from the rubbish she collects on the shoreline around Cape Town in South Africa.
