Playing live this week were This Morning Call and Greenheart.

This Morning Call are a band from South Manchester although one of their number is an Accrington lad. They recently did a gig in a church. A very professional sound and we loved their instrumentation especially the bassoon!

Greenheart is a band comprised of Scotty Moorhouse and James Fraser. With their dijeridoo, guitar, octaver and stompbox they make an unusual but thoroughly accessible sound. This two piece band are full of energetic stomps, guitar strums and howls enough to get your feet tapping. Get hold of their album it is a great listen.

We spoke with Richard Hardie from Orchids who is organising the acoustic stage at the charity Jedi Music Festival in Southport. Richard’s looking for acoustic musicians to play at the festival which is taking place on 1st August 2010. For more information please check out the links.

We also caught up with White Swallow who were gigging in the glamorous town of Rochdale and will be playing live in the BBC Radio Theatre in the next few weeks.
