Made of muscle

On a scorching day on the heath, Chris Packham isn't the only person mad enough to be out in the midday sun. He meets Rhys Cox and a group of Brownies to look at a smooth snake. It is found mainly in the heathlands of Dorset, the New Forest in Hampshire and the Surrey heaths, as well as France and Spain. As they handle the snake, it wraps its tail around their hands. The smooth snake is a constrictor. It eats lizards and other snakes, including members of its own species.
