This spread out woodland is beginning to look like red squirrel country, as there are more branches lower down, so the squirrels don’t have to drop down from such a great height. There are pine seeds drifting down, so somewhere up there are squirrels. A red squirrel comes into view, nibbling on a nice fat pine cone. It will take a while to get at all the seeds, so up it goes to a nice cosy branch. It gets a good grip on the pine cone - lovely little fingers that hold it - they’re so delicate. It nibbles away until it gets at the pine seeds. It’s rather special to see them out here where they belong.
