Oman's rare turtles
Simon Reeve watches as rare Green Turtles drag themselves up a beach after years at sea to lay their eggs, and then sees baby turtles heading back towards the ocean to begin their own extraordinary journeys.
Simon was visiting a protected beach in Oman, a stable, beautiful country packed with lush canyons.
Just a day's drive from glitzy Dubai, Oman was once the centre of a great trading empire, ruling Zanzibar and parts of East Africa.
