ON NEXT : 19:00 Mark Forrest

Your gardening problems solved, plus the best food and drink in Oxfordshire.

Bill has presented, and often produced, daily radio programmes on BBC and commercial stations around the country for over 20 years. "I'm not sure where the time's gone, but it's been a joy," he says.

A long-time cook, Bill has always included food features in his shows, and has branched out into food writing in recent years. He is proud to have been elected to The Guild of Food Writers, other members of which include Delia Smith, Rick Stein and Antony Worrall Thompson. He won Come Dine with Me on Channel 4 in 2005 and was a judge on three series of ITV1's Britain's Best Dish. He has reviewed over 70 restaurants for the website www.viewlondon.co.uk. His BBC Leicester show has required him to sample fish intestines and steak cooked on a camper van's manifold on Tuesday lunchtimes.

Bill wrote his first song at the age of eight. His biggest commercial success to date is 'Starting Together', Su Pollard's number two hit single of 1986. He has appeared in ten pantomimes and once spent Christmas playing the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

He often reviews the national newspapers on BBC News Channel, Sky News and BBC Radio 5 live.

Bill's all-time favourite interviews are Ann Widdecombe and Tony Benn ("politicians from opposite ends of the spectrum who share the rare quality of being 100% honest and willing to engage") and his soul diva heroines like Gloria Gaynor, Gwen Dickey of Rose Royce and Sheila Ferguson of The Three Degrees.
