Synopsis

Peter Day examines the microlending phenomenon in Bangladesh, the country where this global financial movement to bring credit to the poor began. He asks how sustainable it is as the micro finance organisations grow and mature. And wonders how micro lending can avoid the problems experienced by the rest of the banking sector.
