On today's programme: Iran Literary Prize: We find out about the winner of one of Iran's most prestigious literary prize - the Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Award, Ralston Jover: We talk to the Filipino screenwriter and documentary maker about his new film Bakal Boys, Woman In White: A project to send the original text of the 'Woman in White' around the world by email in instalments and George Crumb: The composer discusses a life in music on the eve of a series of concerts marking his 80th birthday.

Ralston Jover

We speak to the Filipino screen writer and documentary maker Ralston Jover about his first feature, Bakal Boys. Set in the harbour slums of Manila the film follows a group of young boys who dive for scrap metal with dangerous consequences.

"Da" Wins Iranian Literary Award

One of Iran's most prestigious literary prizes - the Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Award - has been given to "Da", a semi-fictionalised memoir of the early days of the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, written from the perspective of a teenager living near the Iran-Iraq border. The Strand learns more.

Woman in White at 150

Paul Lewis of the Wilkie Collins Society, and BBC radio presenter, talks about his project to send the original text of the 'Woman in White' around the world by email in instalments - 150 years after the novel was published, also in weekly instalments.

George Crumb

The avant-garde composer George Crumb has been exploring the possibilities in composition for over 60 years and is one of the most frequently performed composers around the world. He joins Harriett to discuss a life in music on the eve of a series of concerts at London's Barbican Centre to mark his 80th birthday.
