New beginnings

Duration: 02:42

A mother black bear, known as June, has attracted a male with her scent. Big Hairy is one of the largest bears in the area, and can kill young cubs, so June’s cub Lily is forced to hide up a nearby tree. Lily is unaware that if her mother chooses to mate with Big Hairy, it will be the signal for the youngster to leave and become independent. The male clicks his tongue to show his friendly intentions towards the female. If she accepts him, a new phase will begin for June.
