Synopsis
This week Charlie is joined in the studio by Sara Tavares, a singer songwriter of Cape Verdean origin.

Sara made her first mark on the music scene by winning two TV music competitions in Portugal and went on to represent her adoptive home country in the Eurovision Song Contest but her gentle sounds are most at home in the intimate surroundings of small venues – and most radio studios are tiny.
For this session, first broadcast earlier this year on Radio 3, a BBC national music station, Sara performs three tracks from her latest album Xinti, all of them underpinned just by her own individual brand of guitar playing. And as a special treat she also plays an atmospheric lullaby in which she accompanies herself on a kalimba (a thumb piano).
