60 second idea to change the world
In our 60 Second Idea To Change The World KACHI A OZUMBA asks us to all read at least three novels (or watch three movies) from other cultures each year. There are so many misconceptions and stereotypes about peoples, cultures and societies which can often lead to conflict and disharmony. If everyone read non-native literature, a greater understanding among peoples would be promoted, stereotypes would give way to enlightenment and many a conflict could be averted.
In next week's programme
The Lebanese novelist ELIAS KHOURY on what time and torture do to truth.
American biologist MARC BEKOFF on the moral behaviour of animals.
STEFANA BROADDBENT on the democratisation of intimacy.
