Domestic yaks

Originally from Tibet and the Himalayas, the yak is a type of high altitude cow. There are few wild yaks left, most have been domesticated being kept for their meat, milk, hair and carrying abilities. However, they have kept many of the traits of their ancestors, the long hair, wild temperment and the ability to survive in the high altitude environment.
