Saiga antelope

Saiga antelope live on the steppes of Kazakhstan. Huge herds migrate across these vast expanses for thousands of kilometres to reach the best grazing. The calves are born during May when there is plenty of fresh grass for the females to eat in order to produce milk for their babies. The saiga are designed perfectly for the steppes, their bulbous nose filters the dust in summer and warms the cold air of winter.
