Croatia's economy has just been downgraded to 'junk' status by credit rating agencies. But could the tourism industry be the country's economic salvation? It now makes up almost 20 per cent of the country's GDP, so it is vital that the sector continues to grow. Fast Track Croatia looks at what measures are being taken to increase tourism, how the country is moving away from its war-torn recent past, to attract many more visitors from the rest of Europe, now that the country is set to join the EU in July this year. But will these measures work, and will it help to draw the country out of its economic doldrums?
