Pink Mountaintops

Marc ends the week loudly with a session from Pink Mountaintops.

Vancouver's Stephen McBean formed Pink Mountaintops as a solo project while he was in Black Mountain and released his first self-titled debut album in 2004.

Since then he has continued to work between both bands, but it's only this year that he released his first Pink Mountaintops album with the release of 'Get Back' on Jagjaguwar, which isn't a Beatles covers album despite the name.

While McBean runs things, Pink Mountaintops as a band is a bit of a supergroup, with a rotating cast of musicians over the years from many bands, and since relocating to Los Angeles for this album, there has been involvement from J Mascis, Rob Barbato, Gregg Foreman and more.

Quite the story to tell in session then and his aim with the new album is "when the aliens do touch down and they don't know rock 'n' roll, you can play them Get Back start to finish, and that'll be all they need." Who knows what planet Marc will be on by the end of the show.
