Commemorating 70 years since D-Day with special programming across the BBC
Seventy years ago on the beaches of Normandy, British, US and Canadian forces landed in occupied Europe in the first stage of the invasion that led to the liberation of Nazi-occupied Europe and the end of the Second World War. Dominic Laurie reflects on the impact of that day for both the UK and the wider world.
