Katie Derham with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and an all-American programme, taken from concerts recorded earlier this year. First, Samuel Barber's Adagio - an arrangement for string orchestra taken from his String Quartet No.2 - followed by Barber's Violin Concerto, with Sarah Chang soloist, and Copland's Symphony No.3, all from a concert in Aberdeen with David Allan Miller conducting. Then, the BBC SSO under the baton of Martyn Brabbins and Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F major, with Freddy Kempf as soloist. And to end, Charles Ives's Symphony No.2 in a recording made in Glasgow.
