Let's Face the Music

Music 'til Midnight - the best in easy listening sounds and timeless standards performed by the greatest artists from the past 60 years. This week the featured singers include Doris Day, Elis Regina and Dee Dee Bridgewater. The instrumentals include the technicolour sounds conjured up by arranger Juan Garcia Esquivel, contrasted with the solo piano of Monty Alexander and the lively bossa nova of guitarist Charlie Byrd and tenor saxophonist Stan Getz, a great jazz partnership. This week's featured classic album is Nat 'King' Cole's 1961 Capitol recording Let's Face the Music - a memorable showcase for Nat's voice framed by arranger Billy May's inspired scores.
