#Haim6Music - All-Female Playlist

Duration:
2 hours
First broadcast:
Sunday 09 March 2014

Fresh from their 6 Music Festival appearance, Haim curate Now Playing's first ever all-female playlist to mark International Women's Day.

The girl trio from Los Angeles will be live on Twitter throughout the show, selecting and directly commenting on tracks suggested by 6 Music listeners using #Haim6Music, as well as those sent in via Facebook, the Now Playing Blog and a host of other platforms.

Hosted by Tom Robinson, the show also marks Now Playing's first ever 'relay tweet in' as from 6.30pm each band member is responsible for curating 30 minutes of the music in succession - all inspired by the audience's suggestions. The first 30 minutes of the show will be a mix of the trio's own personal favourite tracks.

Since topping the BBC's Sound of 2013 poll, sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim have become one of the hottest new music acts, performing at Glastonbury and signing to Jay Z's Roc Nation label, as well as picking up a clutch of award nominations along the way.

The girl group's special Tweet In is ahead of the release of their latest single 'If I Could Change Your Mind', from their debut album 'Days Are Gone'.

So what tracks must Haim pick for their Ultimate All-Female Playlist? There's of course music from icons such as Debbie Harry, Patti Smith and Stevie Nicks? Classic female-fronted indie bands such as Elastica, Sleeper, Echobelly or Portishead? Or what about newer acts such as Florence and the Machine, Laura Marling or Laura Mvula? Get picking...
