Karine Polwart

Karine Polwart is a one of our finest singer/songwriters. Her repertoire of folk songs is fast and she's known for writing songs with powerful lyrics and tackling subject's others would shy away from.

In a revealing and entertaining gem from the BBC Radio Scotland archives Karine talks to Phil Cunningham about the songs she heard on her parents' record collection and the impact they had on her.

Phil quizzes her on her time with the band KP and the Minichips which she formed as a ten year old and she talks about her later influences and her recent musical collaborations.

Phil opens with Karine's track Daisy before she reveals her five songs and the show ends with Tinsel Show from her 2012 album Traces.
