Tom chats to Conor O'Brien, frontman and song writer with Irish band Villagers. The band have been nominated for the Mercury Prize for both of their albums. Tom asks Conor about the band and how they work together, and spends time exploring some of the artists that they've chosen to cover.
Conor formed the band in 2008. They established their reputation on the live circuit, including tour supports with Neil Young and Tracy Chapman. They released their debut EP in February 2009 and their debut single later that year. The debut album Becoming A Jackal came the following year and topped the charts in Ireland. The bands 2nd album Awaylands was released at the start of this year.
Huw Stephens from Radio 1 shares his personal tip from BBC Introducing, as does one of the Introducing shows from around the UK.
