See Hear, Series 33 Episode 19 of 32

This week we bring you an update on the important research being carried out at the Deafness, Cognition and Language Centre at University College London. A few years ago we brought you news of their discoveries that deaf people see and perceive the world differently from hearing people. We revisit some of these discoveries with fun tests for you to take part in at home and reveal the new research that shows deaf people read English sentences differently and that early language acquisition means that learning sign language as a first language is not detrimental to learning spoken English as has long been thought.
