See Hear, Series 33 Episode 17 of 32

See Hear joins accomplished deaf flautist Ruth Montgomery on her travels past and present. We revisit her challenging trip to Russia to play with a hearing orchestra, her Paris trip to learn how deaf artists interpret music in a visual way and also join her on her most recent trip to New York where she journeyed to meet her hero Christine Sun Kim who is an experimental sound artist describing herself as 'unlearning music etiquette'. We also take a look at the opening night of a photographic exhibition called 'Shine' in which children exhibit their photographs of their hopes and dreams.
