In India's largest cities, a bizarre new profession has established itself: the wedding detective. The detective's job is to dig up information on the financial situation of the bride and groom, on their character and level of education.

Parents spare no expense before agreeing to their children's marriages; since matches are increasingly made through the internet, parents want to be sure of what they are getting before they accept a new member into the family.

Anns na bailtean as motha sna h-Innseachan, tha dreuch annasach air nochdadh: deteactaibh phòsaidhean. Feumaidh e seo fiosrachadh a lorg air ionmhas an duine agus a' bhoireannaich, air an seòrsa daoine a th' annta agus air an fhoghlam aca.

Cha chum pàrantan sgillinn air ais bho bhainnsean, ach san latha an-diugh, far a bheil nas motha agus nas motha de bhainnsean a' tighinn, chan ann tro fhaireachaidhean a' chupail, ach tron eadar-lìon, tha pàrantan airson a bhith air leth cinnteach mun neach a tha a' tighinn a-steach dhan teaghlach.
