Hardeep Singh Kohli sits in for Clare Balding and hosts the topical faith show from Glasgow. He talks to stand-up comedian recently turned Catholic priest, Father Frankie Mulgrew, whose father is the legendary comedian Jimmy Cricket and whose sister, Katie Mulgrew, will be appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe. His faith guest is the Right Rev'd Lorna Hood, the current Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.

The Right Reverend Lorna Hood
The Right Reverend Lorna Hood was named Moderator elect of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 2012. She began her career as a probationer assistant in St Ninian’s Corstorphine Church, Edinburgh, and was ordained there in 1978. For over twenty years she served as Chaplain in the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, where she pioneered the pastoral care of women who had suffered miscarriages or lost babies.

In 2010 she became one of ten Chaplains to The Queen in Scotland. She has been a General Trustee of the Church of Scotland since 2001.

This year she has been included in the Woman’s Hour  “Power List” of the top 100 most powerful women in the country.

Frankie Mulgrew is the son of the Irish comedian, Jimmy Cricket and, when he left school, Frankie followed his Dad onto the stand-up circuit under the name Frankie Doodle.  He’s appeared in pantomime, on TV shows, and holiday camps but last month, Frankie stood in front of a very different crowd when he became Father Frankie and was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest.  <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
