  • The Search for Extra-terrestrial Intelligence

This week Adam Walton explores the search for extra-terrestrial intelligence (SETI), following the recent launch of the UK SETI Research Network.

We hear from the patron of the network, Astronomer Royal Lord Rees (Professor Martin Rees). Adam is also joined in the studio by UK SETI Network co-ordinator Dr Alan Penny from the University of St Andrews, Dr Chris North of Cardiff School of Physics & Astronomy, the director of Jodrell Bank Observatory Professor Simon Garrington, and author Mark Brake whose new book looks at our portrayal of extra-terrestrials over two millennia ("Alien Life Imagined", Cambridge University Press, 2013).
