Good Morning Sunday with Clare Balding
Clare Balding hosts the topical faith show. This week Clare is joined in the studio by singer songwriter Thea Gilmore who'll be talking about her faith, the inspiration for her new album, and she will sing live in the studio. Her faith guest is Kiera Phyo, last year's winner of Radio 2's Search For A New Voice for its faith slot Pause for Thought. And there's a session with The Gyuto Monks of Tibet recorded earlier this month. With inspirational music and chat.
Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, Thea Gilmore, is Clare's guest this week. She'll be talking about the inspiration behind her new studio album "Regardless", and playing a track from it live in the studio.
The Gyuto Monks Of Tibet
The Gyuto Monks of Tibet were recently in the UK when they played at the Glastonbury Festival. They came into the studio to talk to Clare about their album "Chants: The Spirit of Tibet" which is out on Decca Records, and how they achieve their unique sound.
Kiera Phyo was last year's winner of Radio 2's ‘Search For A New Voice’ talent competition held at The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival. Kiera won the right to record 6 ‘Pause for Thoughts’ broadcast on BBC Radio 2. She entered the competition whilst on maternity leave with her young child.
Kiera works for the Christian Relief and Development Organisation, Tearfund, which partners with churches in communities in some of the poorest countries around the world. She leads Tearfund’s youthwork in the UK, creatively engaging young people with issues of poverty, lifestyle and faith (www.rhythms.org);
