Innsean an Iar - Hebrides Episode 3 of 4

'S gann gu bheil àite sam bith ann far am bi dùthaich agus ceòl cho dlùth ri chèile is a tha anns na h-Innse Gall. Chan iongnadh sin, seach gun robh spiorad a' chiùil an seo riamh a' tighinn on t-saoghal nàdarrach. Tha na h-eileanan air taobh siar na h-Alba fiadhaich agus corrach ach aig a' cheart àm lan àilleachd. Fad ghinealaichean tha na h-eileanan seo agus an cuid fiadh-bheatha air daoine a bhrosnachadh gu bàrdachd. Anns a' phrògram seo, bithidh Julie Fowlis a' toirt cuireadh dhuibh tighinn cuide rithe siubhal thairis air na machraichean aig oir a chladaich agus a-steach chun na monaidhean. Bidh Maighread Stiùbhairt, Seumas Geumach, Gillebride Mac 'Ille Mhaoil agus Julie a' seinn òrain a bhios a' toirt beò dealbh dhen mhonadh.

There are few places in the world where landscape and music are as closely entwined as the Hebrides. It's not surprising - music here has always drawn inspiration from the natural world. At the edge of the Atlantic lies a land of rock and water, wind-scoured and rugged, but full of subtle beauty. For generations these Islands with their wonderful wildlife have inspired the people who live here to create special music. In this programme, we explore the close relationship found on the Islands between people, music and the moorland. Margaret Stewart, James Graham, Gillebride MacMillan and Julie perform songs inspired by this habitat.
