Lucy receives a letter saying that a cheque has bounced, and is confused. She argues with Ian about his extravagance at the launch. Lucy confused when Janine denies having given Ian further funding.
As the curtain falls on the restaurant sign, Ian’s shocked to see it reads ‘Scarlett’s’, not ‘Ian Beale @ Le Square’. Janine threatens to withdraw her funding if he changes it. She tells Michael this is a mark of Scarlett’s importance to her.
In the kitchen, Jean feels undervalued when Ian doesn’t thank her.
Investment Consultant, Danny Pennant chats up Janine, saying he’ll look over her property portfolio. Carol’s in a bad mood with Masood. She witnesses Masood telling Danny to crawl back under his rock. Ian discovers that Danny has no interest in investing.
Lauren’s determined to do well but when she sees Joey arrive and embrace Lucy, the cracks appear. She necks champagne and refuses to let Whitney stop her. Drunk, she pours drinks over Danny. Ian fires her. Max confronts Joey, who refuses blame. Back home, Max and Tanya are horrified when they discover a stash of empty alcohol bottles under Lauren’s bed.
Janine’s leaving. Michael asks to see Scarlett from now on. Janine thanks Alice for being so informative and tells Michael she might be going for good. Michael’s panicky and furious. He threatens Alice if he doesn’t get to see his daughter again, he’ll destroy her.
Lucy’s phoned the bank. She tells Ian that now he’s stolen from her, she can never trust him again. Mid argument, Peter walks in.
Dexter’s still angry at Ava. Sam demands his money back from Jay. Jay and Dexter argue about the damage. Jay reminds Dexter that he’s lucky to have a dad at all. Jay’s left on the war memorial bench, alone and sad.
