Will she ever admit Matt is the love of her life?

    Lowri Williams
Will she ever admit Matt is the love of her life?
That's a very interesting one. We'll have to wait and see...

    Did Lilian love Paul?

"Do you think Lilian loves Paul and has she fallen un love with him? Xx" from purring kitten on the blog
I think she did fall in love with him. She loved both men but his behaviour latterly made her need some distance from him. But she still loved him.

Did she secretly enjoy the period that Matt was in prison?

    Selwyn Channon
We have every Archer character in our wonderful Somerset village called Lympsham. I am Ian and my partner is Adam, but he doesn't drive a tractor, lol the Archers is the best thing in the world. I would like to ask Lillian, did she secretly enjoy the period that Matt was in prison?
No she didn't enjoy that period at all - I think it was a very confusing time for her and made her question a huge amount about herself, and Matt, and about the relationship. But I think she did come out feeling that she did care about this person very deeply and risked an awful lot for him. Which is why it was extremely painful when she felt that he wasn't there for her in the same way as she'd been for him.

How did she think she'd get away with the affair?

    Lynda Hance
I would like to know how she thinks she will get away with the affair.
I don't think she thought that far. I think she was blinded by the love.

How do you, with just your voice, project such a character that is so complex in what one might think as a simple single source medium?

    Robert Flood
I love your acting. How do you, with just your voice, project such a character that is so complex in what one might think as a simple single source medium? (I love your work on The Archers so much and 'listen forward' to each time I hear your voice).
It's tricky - this is the art of the radio actress. I also teach radio technique at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School - and that is the very kernel of it. How do you create a three dimensional character with your voice alone? It does take quite a lot of skill and a great familiarity with the medium. Lilian has a great physicality about her as a character. I knew I had to find a way of dealing with that on radio and that's where the laugh came from. I knew that she drank and smoked a huge amount a day and that's why there's a thin quality to the voice - a voice that's a bit ravaged by gin and cigarettes. I just tried to find the laugh that suggests the louche quality of her and the more abandoned quality of the character. Radio's a lot about using imagination and a huge amount of areas of your voice. In a lot of the scenes with Michael who played Paul - we were in bed a lot which was absolutely marvellous! - I was using very low and very small areas of my voice to suggest a sensuality. It's great fun - a great challenge and a great medium.

Why doesn't Lillian consider giving up smoking?

    Anne Thompson
Why doesn't Lillian consider giving up smoking?
I think Lilian enjoys a good time. I don't think Lilian believes in really giving up anything. I think she feels life is for the living and it's not something she would consider.

Who would you *really * prefer - Matt or Paul?

    Richard Hubbard
Who would you *really * prefer? Matt, who was/is a crook or Paul who is clearly seriously mentally ill !!
I don't think I'd prefer either of them - I think a combination of them would be quite a good compromise. That's enough to keep a girl going for a while.

Do you fancy a pub lunch pusscat, my treat?

    Michael Moran
@tayler @BBCTheArchers "Do you fancy a pub lunch, Pusscat? My treat!"
A pub treat would be fantastic. I would love that!

    Does she really love Matt?

    Gwynneth Threlfall
I would ask if she really loves Matt.
Yes she loves Matt. But she loves Paul too.
