Shuggie Otis

Jamie Cullum plays an hour of jazz music ranging from its heritage to its future.

This week, Jamie selects classic tracks and shares anecdotes about how he first heard them as well as explaining their significance in the world of jazz. He also features a few words from American guitarist and singer Shuggie Otis, son of the Godfather of R&B Johnny Otis and well-respected jazz musician. Shuggie talks about the people he met through working with his father and the influence of jazz on their music. He also discusses becoming a musician in his own right and working with a diverse range of artists from Frank Zappa to Mos Def.
