The chairman of Farmers for Action, David Handley explains how Twitter gave extra impetus to the SOS Dairy campaign to reverse milk price cuts. The social networking site is also being used to bring farmers together for discussions and to give consumers an insight into daily life on the farm. Caz Graham meets a Cumbrian farmer, known on Twitter as Herdy Shepherd, who has unlocked new markets with tweets about his Herdwick flock.
