The police arrive at the Butchers’ to speak to Tiffany about the mugging. Bianca receives a letter from Liam’s school about his positive change of attitude and how it must, in part, be down to her; smug, Bianca crows about it to Ray and Ian. Bianca’s confused when she’s assigned a new probation officer, unaware that Steve Lowe has dropped her case so he can ethically spend time with Carol. At the Vic, Steve explains to Carol they’re got something in common – his daughter Emily died and would have been the same age as Billie. Back at the Butchers’ Bianca tidies Liam’s room and finds some blank headed notepaper from his school and Tamwar’s money belt.
Denise apologises to Ian; she’s clearly stressed about Patrick. When Denise arrives home she’s surprised to find Ian already there having cooked Patrick lunch. Over tea, Ian opens up about his time on the streets - his despair, his lowest point and a little girl who offered him a crisp. Denise comforts him, she’s been there too. The pair kiss. Denise sends Ian away before Kim comes home but tells him to sneak back later.
Patrick’s amused to see Abi and Jay sneaking into the B&B to spend the evening together.
