This week Gilles catches up with Brooklyn's finest, jazz vocalist, Jose James. The two discuss his past, as well as his recently released album, No Beginning, No End, which includes a formidable list of collaborators, pianist Robert Glasper, bassist Pino Palladino and Chris Daddy Dave on drums.
Gilles Peterson has a skill for joining the musical dots, linking the musical heritage of the past with the progressive innovation of the future, and drawing upon his distinguished career as a DJ and A&R man.
He plays three hours of soul, hip-hop, house, Afro, Latin, electronica, jazz and beyond including some massive tunes from the likes Joy Orbison, Bonobo and J Dilla.
