Robert Worby introduces a recording of Heiner Goebbels' Walden, inspired by the American transcendentalist Henry David Thoreau's account of his two year woodland retreat in a cabin near to Walden Pond in Massachusetts. This is a new version of the work created for Ensemble Klang and the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, with Keir Neuringer as the narrator. Plus Alexander Goehr's Duos, for two violins, performed by members of the BCMG.
