Shaun begins the countdown of the #6MusicGreatest, following a listener vote to find the 100 Greatest Songs released during our lifetime.

The 6 Music presenters and staff came up with a shortlist of 100 tracks, all of which were released between our launch in March 2002 and the end of 2012. You've since voted in your thousands, and the results are now in.

The songs will be played in the order you voted for them, across the day, starting at 7am, and concluding with Steve Lamacq this afternoon. The bard of Breakfast, Murray Lachlan Young, performs a specially-penned poem to tie-up this celebration of 6 Music's tenth anniversary.

Plus Russell Brand is on the telephone to chat to Shaun and share some Comic Relief news.
