The BBC documentary series Look Stranger filmed throughout Britain between 1970 and 1976 and allowed viewers the opportunity to witness life in differing communities through the eyes of local people. In 1971, local resident Donald Macdonald explains how the Hebridean island of Gigha has survived the threat of depopulation and is now a place of beauty and prosperity and we see how the island of Rhum was faring having been turned into Britain's largest conservation area at the time.
